Both types of inserts are designed to provide additional support, cushioning and comfort to the feet and may be recommended for individuals who experience pain and discomfort or other issues related to foot alignment or function.

Orthotics are specialised inserts that are custom-made to fit your foot and are designed to address specific foot or lower limb conditions such as flat feet, high arches, plantar fasciitis and heel pain. These inserts are prescribed by our podiatrists following a comprehensive examination to determine your specific foot and activity needs.

Insoles are generic insoles that are not custom-made and are designed to provide general support and cushioning to the feet. At Toorak Village Podiatry we have a wide variety of custom-made and generic inserts to meet your needs.

It’s important to know that not all individuals need orthotics or insoles and at Toorak Village Podiatry we can provide recommendations for the most suitable option for you to meet your unique lower limb needs and also your budget. Private health insurance extras cover will often meet some of the cost. We will also ensure that whatever inserts are chosen will fit well in your shoes and we will advise the best shoe/runner choice for your activities.
