Keryflex: Better alternative to acrylic or fake nails

07/10/2024

As the warmer months approach, we often see patients struggling to wear open-toed shoes due to what they consider "ugly nails." Many resort to hiding them with nail polish, rigid acrylics, or other harsh treatments that can harm nail health and create a breeding ground for fungus, leading to long-term issues.

Introducing KeryFlex

This cosmetic treatment is designed to enhance the appearance of damaged or broken nails. Exclusively available through podiatrists, KeryFlex provides an immediate, natural-looking improvement that is durable and resistant to acetone, nail polish, and detergents, all while allowing the natural nail to continue growing.

Application

The KeryFlex application is straightforward and pain-free, ensuring no irritation or additional damage to the underlying nail or skin. The process typically takes about an hour (depending on the number of nails treated) and lasts around 6 to 8 weeks.

At Toorak Village Podiatry, we recognise that thickened, discoloured, or traumatized nails can be a source of embarrassment, significantly impacting self-esteem and confidence. We are committed to helping our patients achieve their desired results safely and effectively.

KeryFlex stands out from other cosmetic treatments. Its antifungal, flexible resin allows the natural nail to grow beneath it, with some patients able to maintain their nail appearance between visits.

This treatment requires specialised training for proper application, and our podiatrists will conduct a comprehensive consultation to assess your needs and determine if KeryFlex is the right choice for you. Please note that KeryFlex is not recommended for individuals with peripheral neuropathy, arterial insufficiency, peripheral vascular disease, subungual melanomas, or recurrent ingrown toenails. It is also contraindicated for those with allergies to its ingredients and for pregnant or breastfeeding individuals.

If you're interested in trying KeryFlex or would like a foot assessment to see if it’s suitable for your nails, we invite you to schedule a consultation with one of our podiatrists.

You can view available appointments online on our website or Call Us Directly on 9827 9263. We look forward to being of help before Summer kicks in!
